Saving For Retirement

saving for retirement
How should I start saving for retirement?

I am 36 yrs old and do contribute 4% of my income to 401k,(my employer matches 3%). Unfortunately I only started contributing about 5 years ago. What is the best way for me to save more? I don’t have alot of extra income to work with due to a new baby, maybe 100.00/month.

Start your own IRA. I would suggest Fidelity with their low cost and “life funds” which make it pretty easy for someone.

IRA is next best thing to 401k, and running both is ideal. IRA’s max out @ contributing @ 5000 a year, but doesn’t sound like you’ll need to worry.

Vangaurd is also a quality option
